Our Story
Beyond Basics Tile & Stone was founded in 1998 by Van Sutton with a straightforward goal: do tile and stone work the way it ought to be done. What began as a single craftsman working out of Danville, California has grown into one of the East Bay’s most trusted names in residential remodeling.
For more than 25 years, Van has worked inside homes across Danville, Alamo, Blackhawk, San Ramon, and surrounding communities. Every custom shower, kitchen backsplash, and stone floor carries the same standard he set on day one — no shortcuts, no excuses, and no detail too small to matter.
We never relied on heavy advertising. Most of our projects come from homeowners who liked our work enough to tell a neighbor. That kind of trust is earned one tile at a time.
